  1. Great stuff. I thoroughly enjoy each and every one of your selections. Your explanations are very nice and make the poem very accessible. A couple of suggestions:

    1. Need a classification according to the source "Kamba Ramayanam" etc.

    2. At some point, you may like to write theme-based articles with examples from different literature sources.

Keep it up. Keep it going.

  2. Just click the label section the word kamba raamayaanam (Given in Tamil or English). YOu will get all the Kamba Raamaayanam blog entries. So simple.

time based article needs lot of research. There is no consensus among scholars about the timeline of various literary pieces....the time line varies by few hundred years...:)

    1. No, I did not mean time-based articles, but theme-based articles.

  3. Thanks a lot for having given us a very good opportunity to read such wonderful Tamil poems.

If possible write some Bharathiyar poems.

    1. Thanks for the feedback.

Bharadhiyar poems are so simple to understand. There is no need to explain them. That is why I have not taken up his poems.

Is there a particular reason in asking for Bharathiyar poems ?

  4. One more suggestion: I have seen some websites carrying a list of recent comments. Why don't you introduce that? It will create a sense of community to see other people's comments.

  5. There are three reasons I like your blog:

    1. Your selection of poems. Without your blog, I would not have got to enjoy so much of Tamil literature. I would not have taken the trouble to find all these gems.

    2. Your simple explanations. You are able to explain it in such a way that it reaches the reader. Simple language, direct speech, contemporary language. If another major Tamil professor had tried to explain it, he might have come up with some other bombastic words. (I am reminded of Mu. Varadarasan. His writings and novels are prime examples of pure language, but one that no one can relate to). A good example of this is the way you built up the background to the last blog through the previous two. A reader who follows your blog would be trying to guess what is coming, and then when the crescendo came, it was so good.

    3. The wide variety of sources. I don't know if there is any other blog that draws Tamil literary poems from such diverse sources.

You must try to publish your writings in more mass-media publications such as magazines or newspapers.
